About me - Artists Statement

452-10.jpg

I create a figurative style with post-surreal influences. The characteristics of my work style are based on the flow of “conceptual art”.

I paint an idea or a philosophical statement.

Dushan in the exhibition "Fountain" writes: "The purpose of the artistic work is to describe any conceptual idea that comes to mind of the artist, the artist is a man of ideas, his job is to realize his idea accurately”.

My work begins with researching a subject, then produces a few sketches and selects the one.

After painting the first color, I imagine the finished painting, and from this moment the painting leads me until I feel that the painting is completed and balanced.

Influenced mainly by the painters Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon Van Gogh and Davud Hockony.

I was born in 1952 and live and work in Israel.

I have exhibited in France and in the United States and regularly participate in exhibitions in Israel.

I was born with a passion to paint. I painted at every free time and at the age of 12 I made my first exhibition at home.

During my military service, I was a combat soldier in the Sayeret Shaked unit. I participated in the Yom Kippur War and was wounded in Sinai.

I studied at the University of Haifa. I finished my BA in Economics and Mathematics.

Since 2006 my major occupation is painting.
